Connecting Families – Oct. 21

Connecting Families begins on Wed., Oct. 21 at 6 p.m. 

Connecting Families is an 8-week educational and support group for families and caretakers of individuals living with a severe and persistent mental illness.

This no-cost group is designed for the loved ones of individuals living with severe and persistent mental illness. Families can often feel overwhelmed and under prepared when a loved one is living with a severe mental illness. This can lead to increased stress, anger, guilt, and shame for caregivers.

Connecting Families is designed to provide families with the tools to be empowered and prepared.

Topics include:

  • Boundary setting
  • Education about substance abuse
  • Medication management
  • Communication techniques
  • Sharing of ideas with others who have a shared experience

This no-cost group is open to all community members and will be conducted simultaneously in English and Spanish utilizing video conferencing.
